Smoky Biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon No. 66 Jack Jack spice blend
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and Jack-Jack spice blend.
Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the buttermilk to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for 1-2 minutes.
Pat the dough out into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle.
Use a biscuit cutter or a sharp knife to cut out biscuits.
Place the biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
Serve hot with butter or your favorite spread.
