Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
3 tablespoons Uppity Chicken seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Orange slices (for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
Rinse the chicken breasts and pat them dry with paper towels.
Sprinkle the Uppity Chicken seasoning evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts. Use your hands to gently rub the seasoning into the chicken, ensuring it's well coated.
Sear the Chicken:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the seasoned chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce:
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice and add the orange zest, soy sauce, and honey. Stir well to combine.
Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.
Cook the Chicken in the Sauce:
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce.
Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and let the chicken cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Finish and Serve:
Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper as needed. If using, sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the chicken.
Remove the skillet from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with chopped parsley and orange slices.
Serve:
Serve the Orange-Garlic Chicken hot with your favorite sides, such as steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
Enjoy this flavorful and aromatic dish, perfect for any occasion, and experience the delicious blend of Uppity Chicken seasoning with the citrusy zing of orange and the savory depth of garlic!
