Chicken Hand Pies
Ingredients:
1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
1 cup cooked chicken, shredded or diced
1/2 cup red onion, diced
1 Tablespoon Golden Sunset Shawarma Seasoning
1/4 cup Greek yogurt or sour cream
1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
Salt and pepper to taste
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Sesame seeds or nigella seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, diced red onion, Golden Sunset Shawarma Seasoning, Greek yogurt or sour cream, and crumbled feta cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry sheet into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference and the size of your puffs.
Place a spoonful of the chicken mixture onto the center of each pastry square.
Fold the pastry over the filling to create a triangle or rectangle shape. Press the edges firmly to seal.
Place the filled pastry puffs onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the puffs with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or nigella seeds if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
Serve the Chicken Hand Pies warm.
