Baharat Spiced Flatbread
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup water
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon No. 6 Baharat spice blend
Olive oil for brushing
Instructions
In a small bowl, combine water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it's frothy.
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and Baharat spice blend.
Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until it's smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 2 hours or until it doubles in size.
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a baking stone or baking sheet inside.
Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. Roll out each piece into a thin circle.
Place the dough circles on the preheated baking stone or baking sheet and bake for about 5 minutes until they puff up and get a slight color.
Brush the hot flatbreads with olive oil before serving.
